Dr. Dustin Coyle

Dr. Dustin Coyle

Dr. Dustin Coyle graduated from the University of Utah School of Medicine. He was always interested in Pediatric Medicine, so he completed an internship in pediatrics prior to his residency in Anesthesiology, both also at the University of Utah School of Medicine. He is board certified in Anesthesiology. Dr. Coyle provides hospital level mobile anesthesia care for pediatric patients in dental offices and serves San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties. When he is not working, Dustin enjoys spending time with his wife and fully grown children seeking out new adventures in Southern California.

Dr. Scott Gillin

Dr. Scott Gillin

Dr. Scott Gillin is a highly skilled MD physician, dual board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesia in both general anesthesia and pediatric anesthesia. With over 25 years of experience in caring for children, Dr. Gillin has made significant contributions to pediatric anesthesia. He served as the Chief of Anesthesia at Rady Children’s Hospital and was an integral part of the cardiac anesthesia team for 15 years, providing expert care in critical situations. Dr. Gillin’s journey began in Florida, where he grew up by the beach. He pursued his academic ambitions by earning a BA in Biology from Brown University, followed by an MD from the University of South Florida. He completed his anesthesia residency at UCSD and further specialized by completing a pediatric anesthesia fellowship at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Recognizing a gap in the care provided in pediatric offices, where many children were not being treated by physicians experienced in managing critical patients, Dr. Gillin set out to make a difference. His mission is to bring the same high-level, hospital-grade anesthesia care to children in an office setting, ensuring they receive the same standard of safety and attention they would in a hospital environment.
Dr Patrick D. DeMars

Dr Patrick D. DeMars

Dr. Patrick D. DeMars is the founding physician of POAS, or Pediatric Office Anesthesia Specialists. Dr. DeMars graduated from the University of Minnesota Medical School in 1981 and initially went into Pediatrics however soon fell in love with taking care of critically ill and injured children. He is Board Certified in Pediatrics as well as Anesthesiology and is fellowship trained and certified in Pediatric Anesthesia and Pediatric Critical Care. Dr DeMars’ career has focused on expanding access to expert pediatric care both in the United States Navy as well as in the private sector where he has served in leadership positions at Balboa Naval Hospital, Rady’s Children’s Hospital in San Diego, Shriners Hospital for Children in Spokane, and St Jude’s Research Hospital for Children in Memphis.
Dr. David Fischer

Dr. David Fischer

Dr. David Fischer, MD is an anesthesiologist in Soutern California and has over 35 years of experience in the medical field. He graduated from University Of Rochester School Of Medicine & Dentistry in 1988 and completed a residency at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center. He recently joined the POAS team and specializes in Anesthesiology and Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Fischer is Dr. Fischer is board certified in Anesthesiology and Pediatric Anesthesiology.

Dr. Amy Soleta

Dr. Amy Soleta

Dr. Amy Soleta is a board certified pediatric anesthesiologist. She went to medical school at the University of Virginia, and completed anesthesia residency with a pediatric anesthesia fellowship at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, OR. She moved to California in 2019 after working for 5 years in Oregon at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, caring for patients and teaching medical students, residents, and fellows in pediatric anesthesia. She lives in Orange County, CA with her husband and adorable dog, Penny. In addition to caring for children at dental offices, she has privileges at Children’s Hospital Orange County where she sees a wide range of patients. In her free time she enjoys traveling and taking Penny on adventures.
Dr. Chris James

Dr. Chris James

Dr. Christopher James, MD,  is a native to Southern California and was raised in Ocean Beach, San Diego. Dr. James began his medical journey at the UCSD for his undergraduate studies. He then attended SDSU for his master’s degree, which led him to UCLA for medical school. He then expanded his love for medicine at Drexel University in Philadelphia, where he executed an anesthesia residency. He concluded his training in Seattle at The UW, completing an Interventional Pain Fellowship. Dr. James adds positively to the educational mix of our team with his amazing education and experience. Dr. James combines his specialized training to make your children’s experiences as comfortable and effective as possible.

Dr. James’ specialized training coupled with the skills of the entire POAS team provides a safe and effective experience for all of our pediatric patients.

Dr Tina Wong

Tina Wong, MD is an anesthesiologist who is a team member at the POAS Mobile Pediatric Anesthesiologists that has more than 20 years of experience as a Pediatric Anesthesiologist. She graduated from University of Southern Colorado in 2004 and is board certified  with the American Board of Anesthesiology, Pediatric Anesthesiology and the American Board of Anesthesiology.

Dr. Wong is also affiliated with Scripps Green Hospital, Scripps Memorial Hospital LaJolla, San Diego and Chula Vista as well as the Scripps Mercy Surgery Pavillion.  

    Dr. Vinit Wellis

    Dr. Vinit Wellis

    Dr. Vinit Wellis is a pediatric anesthesiologist and currently is working at Rady children’s hospital from 2002-current.  Dr. Wellis graduated from Tufts University School of Medicine in 1992 and has been in practice specilaizing in Pediatrics for 27 years. She was an assistant clinical professor at Lucille packard children’s hospital from 1997-2002. She enjoys reading, hiking, biking and being in nature.

    Dr. Howard Michael Worthen

    Dr. Howard M. Worthen is an anesthesiologist in San Diego, California and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Sharp Memorial Hospital and Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital. He received his medical degree from McGill University Faculty of Medicine and has been in practice for more than 20 years. Dr. Howard M. Worthen and specializes in Anesthesiology, Critical Care Medicine, Pediatrics and Pediatric Critical Care Medicine.
